Fiza Salim is Grameen Foundation's Sub Saharan Africa Fellow for 2013, based in Kenya. Her primary areas of expertise are public health, and communications. She has worked on sexual and reproductive health and rights with Myanmarese refugees at UNHCR Malaysia, as well as for a niche local NGO in Karachi, Pakistan, and her independent research and publications have focused on childhood immunization, and sexual violence in conflict-afflicted regions. Prior to joining Grameen Foundation, she was working as a free-lance writer, and a consultant for a boutique communications agency in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Through this Fellowship, she is hoping to develop skills in ICT programming, and branch out into issues of livelihoods, food security, and maternal and child health.
