Business Professionals Volunteer to Help Microfinance Institutions Improve Reach and Impact

Washington, D.C., September 21, 2011 - Grameen Foundation’s global volunteer initiative today announced that MICRA Philippines, the Microfinance Innovation Center for Resources and Alternatives (MICRA) Philippines Foundation, Inc., will become the fifth member of the Bankers without Borders® (BwB) Alliance and receive funding and volunteer support to expand their services for the microfinance sector in the Philippines.

Grameen Foundation Expands Volunteer Program to U.S. Microenterprise Organizations

Washington, D.C., May 2, 2011 — Grameen Foundation’s Bankers without Borders® initiative and the Association for Enterprise Opportunity (AEO) today announced a new collaboration to support microfinance and microenterprise development organizations in the United States. This alliance will enable more than 400 organizations to benefit from the skills and experience of the more than 6,200 highly-skilled active and retired business professionals in Bankers without Border’s global volunteer reserve corps.

J.P. Morgan Supports Bankers without Borders® with a Three-Year, $3 Million Grant

Grameen Foundation today announced it is expanding its Bankers without Borders® (BwB) initiative, which taps senior working professionals for short-term, field-based or remote skills-based projects supporting microfinance institutions (MFIs) and technology-for-development initiatives. The program will be supported by a three-year, $3 million grant from JPMorgan Chase Foundation, an inaugural sponsor of the program in 2008.
